Lesson 3: Look the Part . Listen . Play the Part

I make it my business to know what you know. - Jamie “Ghost” St. Patrick

Assumptions made from physical appearance have been around since the beginning of time, they are not going anywhere. Control what you can, one of those being your wardrobe. $1,000 dollar suits are not necessary. However, simple, clean, and traditional to the profession you are pursuing does make things easier. Once the eye test is passed, rely on another one of your resourceful senses, your ears. Observe and take note of relevant issues, events, and jargon being used around you. Finally, impress by constant progression and developing your soft skills.

Trevor’s Takeaways:

  • Purchase a few reliable clothing articles for interviews and professional events.
  • Carry a small journal to write down notes from the day / record them into your phone.
  • Practice asking very informative questions, show confidence.
